1. Who we are

This website ("the Service") is operated as a personal project. Contact details are on the contact page. For privacy-related requests, write to the same address with "Privacy" in the subject line.

2. What we store on your device

The Service uses your browser's localStorage to remember:

• The list of days you have marked as time spent in the Schengen area.
• Your reference date and the currently visible 12-month window.
• Your light/dark theme preference.

This data is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to us, and we cannot read it. You can clear it at any time using the "Clear all" button in the controls panel, or through your browser's site-data settings.

3. What we collect on our servers

We do not run an application backend. The site is served as static files through a third-party hosting and content delivery provider. As part of normal operation, that provider may record basic request metadata for security and abuse prevention — including IP address, user-agent, and request time — subject to its own privacy policy.

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which pages are popular. IP addresses are anonymised. Google Analytics is loaded with Consent Mode v2: until you accept cookies in the banner shown on your first visit, Google's tags run in a cookieless, non-personalised mode and no analytics or advertising identifiers are stored on your device. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing the schengen-consent entry in your browser's site-data settings; the banner will reappear on your next visit.

4. Advertising

Pages on this site may show ads through Google AdSense. When this is the case:

• Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads, including personalised ads where consent has been given.
• You can review and adjust your ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising via the DAA (US) or EDAA (EU).
• For visitors in the EU/UK, we use Google's IAB-compliant consent flow to ask before any non-essential cookies are set.

Some pages may also include affiliate links (for example to travel insurance or visa services). If you sign up through one of these links, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links do not change the price you pay and do not influence which products are mentioned.

5. Third parties

• Hosting & content delivery provider — a third-party service serves and caches the site's files and may process standard request logs.
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymous visit measurement, loaded with Consent Mode v2 (see section 3). See Google's privacy policy.
• Google AdSense — advertising (when enabled). See Google's privacy policy.
• Affiliate partners — if you click an affiliate link, you leave this site and the destination's privacy policy applies.
• Travelpayouts — an affiliate network whose script runs on our pages to attribute referrals and may set cookies or similar identifiers. See Travelpayouts' privacy policy.

6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of any personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Because we do not run a user-account backend, the personal data we hold is limited to anonymous analytics aggregates and (where applicable) advertising identifiers held by Google. To exercise your rights regarding advertising data held by Google, use the links in section 4. For anything else, contact us using the address on the contact page.

7. Children

This Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
